I took the plunge and jailbroke my new g3 iphone. I’m not sure how long I’m going to leave it like this. I haven’t had any problems but I don’t really have a good reason to leave it like this. For the record I used pwnage tool 2.02 to take care of the dirty work. I was a little uneasy at first since I’d updated to the 2.0.1 firmware. My first attempt reduced my phone to an ipod touch. The second however was a complete success. I can now run app store apps side by side with cydia/installer apps. About the only fun thing that I can find that I couldn’t do before is applying themes. The picture below is my current first screen. I am using the buuf2 theme for winterboard (a 2.0 version of summerboard) Feel free to comment with any words of wisdom or troubles you’ve encountered.

Hey you have a missed call. I bet that was your wife when you claimed that you didn’t hear the phone ring or feel it vibrate. Just kidding.
Glad you like your phone. I wish the nonjail broken would do themes.

I have jailbroken every iPhone firmware that was available to do so. Even the new 2.0 and 2.01 have been a “must-do” for me. The only app I have ever bought is iToner (allows custom ringtones), and I will also be buying Intelliscreen after the demo runs out. Neither is available on the App Store.
Throw in customization, themes, and other apps and games, and having the App Store + Jailbreak = Unlimited Options.
